This video is a brilliantly edited cutting of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas with Marilyn Manson’s version of the song This Is Halloween.
It was done for the Disney Digital 3D release, and makes the whole animation come to life even more so than it did already.
Tim Burton’s vision of normal everyday things is astoundingly dark and obscure, so it fits in perfectly with Marilyn Manson’s sombre and Gothic skewed view on the world.
Not only does this make for a brilliant music video, it also adds something to the original film. When a collaboration works that well, it deserves to be watched time and time again, and that is exactly what I intend to do.
So as Halloween approaches ever nearer, feel free to scare your kids with this morbid video. It beats cutting a pumpkin up any day surely?!
