Legendary folk singer Pete Seeger has died at the ripe old age of 94 after a brief spell in hospital. He has departed this world leaving behind a catalog of songs that will be remembered for generations to come.

Seeger was born in New York in 1919 to a music scholar father and composer mother. His love of music was therefore clearly deeply ingrained in his soul.

He began his music career in the 1940s, forming two highly influential folk groups, the Almanac Singers and the Weavers.

Seeger penned and performed hundreds of songs over the years, many of which became mainstream hits. These include If I Had A Hammer, Where Have All The Flowers Gone?, and Kisses Sweeter Than Wine.
