Trippy Religious Video | Reverend Alicia Gets Psychedelic

25 sec read

Most religious TV broadcasts are notoriously boring. But this psychedelic clip from public access television is a hoot. Don’t be fooled by its ordinary beginnings, just keep watching and you’ll see what I mean.

For some reason, the song on this clip reminds me of the songs they use in commercials to brainwash people in horror movies. And the 70s-style background graphics are quite hypnotic. But if you can get past all that, the best part is Reverend Alicia herself.

The Rev is sitting in what appears to be an office chair draped in metallic gold fabric, twirling around and “dancing” in praise. I found it all quite entertaining. But now I have a strange urge to join a cult.
