Tyrese Gibson’s and Dwayne Johnson’s, better known as The Rock, feud had reached new heights in recent days. The two stars of the Fast & Furious franchise have been feuding in recent weeks via social media after an announcement that the Fast & Furious 9 movie’s release date has been delayed.
Tyrese took to social media on Wednesday to discuss his complaints with the Rock. “Hello world………. hello loyal fans and loved ones from OUR fast universe…….. I’m sorry to announce that if Dewayne is in Fast9 there will no more Roman Peirce – You mess with family and my daughters survival I mess with yours……… close your eyes dude you’re a “Clown”…… #CandyAssBitchMade All my real one…. Men on integrity… my real ones out here stand UP…… folks that GP to the gym and get big naturally #NoJuice #NoOJ spin off huh? Tyrese’s complaints come after Universal Pictures announced that they will be producing a spinoff to the series featuring The Rock and Jason Statham. The spinoff is slated to hit theaters in 2019. Fast & Furious 9 was slated to hit theaters the same year, but has since been pushed back to 2020.
Universal Studios has not commented on the controversy. E! News claims that production for the franchise will proceed as planned.
Tyrese claims that he is mad that The Rock pitched an idea for a spinoff to the studio privately and didn’t think about what Tyrese has been going through privately. Tyrese has been engaged in lengthy legal battles and claims he is almost broke from the mounting legal bills.
He claims The Rock’s spinoff will cause a delay in the franchise’s production, which will impact him and others directly. Tyrese has been engaged in a legal battle with his ex-wife over their 10-year-old daughter. Tyrese claims that allegations of abuse have killed his reputation and caused his talent agency to be unable to book him for roles.
