The United States of Tara was one of the most exciting series of 2009 with its original writing and quirky cast. A program dealing with dissociative identity disorder was always going to be brave, but Showtime managed to inject the right measures of humor and heart into this breakout hit.

This trailer shows us what’s in store in the second season for Tara, played by award-winning Aussie Toni Collette, her “alters,” and her remarkably patient family.

This preview doesn’t give away a lot (aside from some public backyard sex), but it does have me anticipating the return of this bold dramedy.
