When I was growing up I really didn’t care about the controversy surrounding violent video games. The more violent they were, the cooler they were. Right?

But now that graphics and gameplay have dramatically improved, one can only wonder if the rise in school shootings has a connection with violent video games…

I have to hand it to Penn & Teller on this episode, they really went in-depth on this one. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought to hand a nine-year old kid a gun, but that’s what they did- and he didn’t kill anyone.

Another point to bring up is that kids there are a lot of kids that just play games for the hype or “cool factor” and not to unload rage (at least for me). An obsession with a violent video game may be something to be concerned about, but the reason behind the obsession is more important.
