Ah, it’s footy season again, and you don’t get a lot of match-ups that are hotter than Essendon versus Collingwood.

I must confess that I am an Essendon woman married to a Collingwood man. We could have only had a worse footy relationship if I was a Carlton fan.

The thing about Essendon and Collingwood is that it’s one of those rivalries that has been grown over the course of many years.

Of course, everyone except Collingwood supports hates Collingwood supporters, but that’s another matter.

And, of course, if you’re not Australian and don’t pay attention to the footy… Well, you are missing out on a bloody good game of sport.
