“Maybe so. The actual phone might be the least important part of Amazon’s announcement. Instead, Amazon’s big reveal is a peek at what the company thinks the next wave of computing will be.

“Many people in Silicon Valley say the idea of carrying a device in our pockets to access the Internet is going to seem archaic in a decade.

“Instead, the Internet will be everywhere, and we will be able to get to it and log in to see our digital stuff from any wall or table, or on a bracelet or contact lens.”
