“A gunman involved in a 90-minute showdown with police in central Brisbane blew off his fingers and part of his biceps last week.

“The man, 34, was found bloodied on a northern Brisbane suburb street corner on February 25 and reportedly screamed at paramedics, ”I’ve blown my own fingers off” after a worried neighbour called 000.

“A homemade gun was found near some of his fingers.

“He had emergency surgery…to try to save some of his fingers. Police shot the man with rubber bullets on Friday afternoon after he roamed the city’s Queen Street Mall for about 90 minutes armed with a gun.” – BrisbaneTimes.com.au
