Kathy Griffin isn’t shy about celebrating New Year’s Eve nearly naked in Times Square in New York – live on CNN.

As the clock struck midnight, the camera went to shots of the big ball drop and the people celebrating. That gave Kathy just enough time to strip down.

What a way to welcome in the new year!

Anderson Cooper seemed geniunely shocked to see Kathy stripped down despite being friends with her.

What, Cooper, is this really the first time? Surely she has pulled some nearly naked stunts somewhere else…

Either way, she’s certainly making news today while people are welcoming 2012.
