Watchmen, the movie version of the classic and critically acclaimed graphic novel by Alan Moore, is now out at cinemas everywhere. And it’s been getting generally positive reviews, although the original creators aren’t fans.

Maybe they’ll like this version better, a spoof on 1980s Saturday morning cartoons. It turns the Watchmen from a moody band of bad asses into cheesy superheroes with a theme for 12-year-olds to sing along to.

This spoof cartoon version was created by Harry Partridge, and if I’d have watched it without first knowing it was a spoof, I’d have believed it had actually been produced and aired on American television.

I’m going to go and see Watchmen this weekend but having never read the graphic novel, I’ll rate it on its merits rather than compare it to the comic. I’m hoping I love the darker mood to it all but then I’m a Spider-Man fan so I might not.
