This video shows the new Windows 8 logo, as unveiled by Microsoft this week. Some people love it, some people hate it, but it is the Windows 8 logo and will remain the Windows 8 logo, regardless.

In terms of Windows operating systems, Windows 7 is by far my favorite. At the time XP was awesome, and before that I used Windows 95 and Windows 98 for many years. But Windows 7 is a fantastic achievement.

I remain on the fence about Windows 8. It could work, and work extremely well. Especially if Windows 8 becomes the dominant force for non-iPad tablets. But that’s a big IF. And it may leave desktop users cold.

But this is about the Windows 8 logo, and only the Windows 8 logo. I happen to like it, thinking it’s simple and elegant. And as Microsoft suggests, looks like an actual window once again, and not a flag like recent logos have.
