I love this video, showing as it does movie actresses through the years. There are some obvious and very well known women missing but it’s still quite a definitive collection.
Starting with early pioneers such as Mary Pickford and Marlene Dietrich, right up to the modern day phenomenons like Sandra Bullock and Halle Berry, this shows us the best Hollywood actresses from the past 100 years or so.
The morphing works extremely well, mixing between great photograph to great photograph in the blink of an eye. It’s one of those technologies that seems old hat but when done well, looks great.
I like the way they’ve kept the whole video montage slideshow in black and white, as it lends it a sultry and classy look, which cheesy colour photographs would have ruined.
This also shows how the desired look has changed and evolved over the years, with the early actresses sporting rigid hairdos and heavy make up.
A great video, which goes some way to emphasising the contribution women have made to film over the years, something often overlooked when it comes to awards and memories.
