In Episode 1 of The X Factor we saw some great acts, and not so great acts. This brother and sister combo who call themselves Same Difference were quite good, but what were the false smiles about?

I hated the way they bounced in to the room full of energy and as if the world was perfect. Maybe I’m just bitter because I’m usually a miserable pessimistic ‘glass is half empty’ type of person.

They can sing, there’s no doubt about that, but what is it with the scary faces, and over the top enthusiasm? You know you’re trying too hard when the veins on your neck pop out Deirdre Barlow from Coronation Street style.

I totally agree with all of Simon Cowell’s comments as he is spot on as usual. Love him or hate him, he knows his stuff, and telling these two to tone it down a notch was completely correct.

So they got through, securing the 3 yes votes they needed to progress to the next round, but will they be able to tone it down enough to make it to The X Factor final?
