This is the new music video from Avenged Sevenfold. The song is called So Far Away and was written as a tribute to their deceased drummer Jimmy Sullivan.
It may be a hard song to listen to and a hard video to watch for big fans of the band who were both shocked and saddened when The Rev died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs at the end of 2009.
Even though I’m only an small-time, occasional fan even I can feel the emotion coming through the lyrics and the singing. I’m guessing this song will be amazing live, as the band will put their heart and soul into it.
Music is always at its best when borne out of emotion, including mourning the loss of someone. It’s a classic case of tragedy being turned into triumph.
