There’s a new animated Web TV series which is rapidly gaining fans and popularity. It’s called Fatal Mortality 2 – Death By Killing and it’s gathering quite a cult following on YouTube.
Sort of like a cross between Celebrity Deathmatch and an old 8-bit computer game, the series features battles between famous classic film characters in a fight to the death.
To show you what I mean, here’s episode 1, titled “Jules Winnfield (Pulp Fiction) Vs Raymond Babbitt (Rainman)”.
As you can see, the series works by pairing some very simple pixelated animation with the character’s speech dubbed over the top. As they fight, the pair spout some classic lines.
Each video is only a couple of minutes long. This suits me as it prevents boredom setting in, which used to happen quite often with Celebrity Deathmatch.
The series now has its own website, where you can go to watch every episode so far.
These have been created purely “to demonstrate some of the awesome creative talent at Agile Virals,” the company which made them. I sure hope they carry on doing so though, as I want more!
