The Phantom Menace wasn’t a great film, but I did like the extended lightsaber battles. Nooooo, don’t ruin them for me! Otherwise I’ll have no reason to ever watch the film again.
The chances are you’ve seen Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. You may not have wanted to, but it’s been on TV so many times that perhaps you couldn’t help it.
This movie, the first of the Prequel Trilogy, came in for lots of criticism, mostly over Jar Jar Binks. But wait, what about the lightsaber fight at the end? It turns out that was a bit crap as well.
This video does a fantastic job of dissecting the choreography involved in the fights, showing just how lame they would be in a real-life situation. In reality a lightsaber fight would last about 10 seconds.
