When a musician dies, the estate always manages to find unreleased material lurking somewhere just waiting to be unleashed on the world. It doesn’t matter whether it’s crap or not, as it’ll sell to fans regardless.
Michael Jackson is no exception. This is the new song being released almost four months after his death. It’s titled This Is It and will be the closing track on the film of the same name coming to cinemas everywhere.
This Is It isn’t bad but it’s also not great either. Were Jacko still alive then I doubt this would do very well. As it is, it’ll likely rocket to number one in charts around the world.
And I’m guessing there’ll be more songs concocted from unreleased demos and recording sessions to come. God forbid those running his estate would let him rest in peace, not when there’s money to be made off the back of his dying.
