I’ll be honest in stating that I’d never heard of ‘imprecatory prayer’ before today. And to be honest I wish I’d stayed ignorant to this truly ludicrous and disgusting practice. What is imprecatory prayer? Wishing someone dead.
This video gives us the audio from a show on Fox News Talk Radio. Wiley Drake, a pastor and so-called man of God, not only condones the use of imprecatory prayer, he even admits to praying for the death of President Barack Obama.
I find this completely stunning. We all think ill of people at some point in our lives but to wish them injury or death, and then pray to God to ask for this to happen to a fellow human being, is sick beyond belief.
Drake assumes he’s doing God’s will. Really? God wants you to pray to him to kill people? If so, that’s not the creator of the universe I want to know or love. For me this is a typical example of religion being twisted for evil.
