However, there’s an underlying message that lifts You Need to Calm Down above her usual drivel. Which is complete and utter support for the LGBTQ community.
We get cameos from Ryan Reynolds, Ellen DeGeneres, Laverne Cox, RuPaul, and others. And right at the end, Katy Perry pops up wearing a hamburger outfit.
Swift and Perry had a very public falling out, and haven’t spoken since. So coming together again for You Need to Calm Down demonstrates Swift’s message perfectly.
