The End Of The Colbert Report Video | Stephen Colbert Sings “We’ll Meet Again”

The Colbert Report has come to an end, with Stephen Colbert dropping the character and the show to take over from David Letterman in May 2015.

Colbert went out with a bit of a bang, offing the Grim Reaper, declaring himself immortal, and then having a good ol’ sing-song with a host of celebrities.

The Colbert Report ended with a rendition of We’ll Meet Again, a World War II song immortalized by Vera Lynn. Celebrities joining Colbert for the close of his show included Jon Stewart, George Lucas, Patrick Stewart, and Michael Stipe.

I never quite got The Colbert Report, mainly because it took me a while to cotton on to the fact Colbert was playing a character. Still, it’s sad to see a satirical show end, as good ones are few and far between.
