The Great Gatsby Movie Trailer 2012 Video | Baz Luhrmann Does F. Scott Fitzgerald

This is the movie trailer for The Great Gatsby, which sees Baz Luhrmann bring the 1925 book to life on the big-screen.

It reminds me of Moulin Rouge a great deal, which is unsurprising given that it’s the same writer/director. Baz Luhrmann has a definite style that is unmistakable, and it depends whether you appreciate it or not.

I have to say I’m not entirely convinced by this trailer. Having never read the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel the movie is based on I’m approaching it fresh, and the storyline doesn’t seem all that compelling.

The Great Gatsby is set to be released on December 25, 2012. So there is still a long time for the final touches and editing decisions to be made. Right now I’m not all that interested in seeing the film.
