Three-toed sloths are strange-looking creatures at the best of times, but when one tries to cross a busy road surrounded by interested tourists they look even weirder than usual.
This sloth wanted to get to the tasty leaves on the trees on the other side of the road. But at the speed it travels and the speed the local traffic travels he stood little chance of ever making it across in one piece.
Thankfully a local motorcyclist stops and helps, risking a slash to the face in the process. Thankfully the sloth realizes it’s a friendly gesture.
Although sloths provide strong evidence for evolution, because they’ve adapted to suit their tree-dwelling existences, they also show that nature isn’t perfect. Otherwise why on earth would it have conjured up something so ugly.
Having said that I’d like one as a pet, just to freak out the neighbor’s dog.
