I think that ‘mixed bag’ was the best I was personally thinking this movie could achieve and… yep, looks like it.
I do find it kind of ironic that the thing people were most wary of, most worried about, was Will Smith as the genie… and it turns out that Will Smith as the genie is probably the most ‘okay’ part of this entire movie.
It’s not exactly awful by any means, but what’s wrong with staying true to the animated version and growing from that rather than rushing through parts and trying to make everything work that way?
