Ye Shiwen has won her second gold medal and broken her second world record. Good for her, it’s an amazing achievement for a 16-year-old.
Unfortunately not everyone holds the same sentiments, with the Americans suspecting foul play. They have even gone so far as to suggest “genetic manipulation,” because China can only win when they artificially breed Olympiads!
For all I know something may come out years down the line, but I doubt it. The fact is Shiwen is being tested after each race and being found clean from performance-enhancing drugs on every occasion.
The bitching from the U.S. coaches, competitors, and media is just coming across as unsporting and unsavory. Have they never heard the phrase “sore losers?”
