The 81st Academy Awards offered plenty of inspirational speeches, laughs, and oh yes, music. With Australian actor and Broadway star Hugh Jackman at the helm, what did you expect? My favorite number was this star-studded tribute to the musicals.

Hugh teamed up with the bootylicious Beyonce Knowles, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens from High School Musical, and Mamma Mia cuties Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper for the colorful number.

Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann was behind the performance, and it shows. The way each iconic musical song blended into the next was genius, and the playful tone is one of the Australian director’s trademarks.

Baz and Hugh may not have won anything for the epic Australia this year, but with this they truly put their stamp on the Academy Awards.
