I’ve just watched Alisha Bennett finish in the bottom two of the first of the X Factor live finals. She was saved though, at the expense of Kimberley Southwick, which I’m glad about.

She had an off night, and had been given a bad song by Sharon Osbourne to start off with. I still think she could do well in the competition but she needs to give each performance more enthusiasm.

Alisha is a 23 year old former receptionist from Wembley in London, who was inspired to try out for X Factor by last year’s winner Leona Lewis. Her musical background is as a singer in a church gospel choir.

In this video she talks about how much of an emotional roller-coaster the show is, and that would have got even more intense now that she’s through to the live finals.

To stay in the contest and avoid the wrath of Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh, she’s going to have to up her game quite considerably or it’ll be bye bye Alisha.
