Don’t let her nickname of ‘Chicken Legs’ fool you – Allyson Felix is reported as leg pressing 700 pounds on a weight machine. A dedicated athlete – even missing her own senior prom for a completion – Felix is one of the leaders of the US track team.
Unlike in Athens, where the 200m was her only event, she could be participating in up to four events in Beijing. She’s set to do well in all she does, having had a fabulous year in 2007 and setting three of her personal best times.
When she’s not competing or training, she’s attending the University of Southern California. Her parents taught her the importance of education and one day she would like to be a teacher.
