As we predicted yesterday, Altiyan Childs has taken out this year’s X Factor Australia competition. This video shows the first time Altiyan performed his single, “Somewhere in the World Tonight.”
Altiyan’s journey has been an interesting one. I remember him forgetting the lyrics of every single song during the audition rounds. I couldn’t believe it when judge Ronan Keating took him under his wing.
But Ronan saw something I couldn’t: the genuine rock star within. Somewhere along the way Altiyan was transformed from this year’s joke to a serious contender. At the start I imagined he’d last a few weeks at best, but now I think he was a worthy winner.
