Animal shelters tend to be fairly bleak places. Sure the animals are cute, but you just know what will happen if they don’t get adopted. If all that’s depressing you, take a look at this video.

It shows a shelter with a difference called The Cat House on the Kings. There are no cages, no rules, and no death! All the cats are up for adoption, but if they don’t find a new home they’re free to stay in this sanctuary as long as they please.

The big thing that surprised me is just how peaceful this place is. There are more than 500 cats, and several dogs too, and they all seem to coexist in harmony.

It seems to me like those unwanted kitties might not have it so bad after all! I can think of worse places for a cat to see out the rest of his nine lives!
