Some people have strange ideas as to how to have fun. Like installing an ant colony in an old flatbed scanner to see what happens, for instance.
After getting his ant colony safely ensconced in the scanner, this guy then took a high-definition scan of the interior once a week for five years. He then put together this compilation of the images.
I would actually love to see the unedited version, just showing each scan made over the course of five years. Although I can see why this was turned into the stylized stop-motion it is, it then doesn’t show the full picture. Literally.
It’s pretty mesmerizing seeing how life on an ant farm is in a discarded piece of consumer electronics. My guess would be this is how aliens see us. Now there’s a scary thought to leave you with.
