Working dogs, which includes police dogs, need to be trained. But is the training on display here more akin to cruelty to animals?

Horses, dogs, and other animals are happy to work for humanity, with a relationship having been fostered over countless generations to enable a collaborative work ethic between species.

But for that to happen, individual animals need to be trained properly in the task they are being asked to do. They also need to be shown who’s boss, especially dogs which are pack animals.

That explains this video, which shows a Baltimore Police Department wrestling a dog to the ground time and time again. I personally don’t think it’s animal abuse as some have suggested but I’m sure others will have their own opinion.
