Bea Arthur, star of Golden Girls and a mean stand-up comedienne, died on Saturday after a battle with cancer. She has left behind two sons, two grandchildren, and a back catalog of amazing performances.

I used to watch Golden Girls even though I was only a teenager, which just shows how funny the show was, especially the interplay between Bea Arthur and Estelle Getty, who played her mother despite actually being the younger woman.
Bea Arthur was 86 when she died, which means she had a good innings. However, it’s very sad that the comedy world has lost one of its truly great inspirations. Bea Arthur – 1922-2009 – Rest In Peace.
