Some songs, movies, quotes, people, and events are destined to be remembered for long after their time has passed – even if the people at the time didn’t know it.

One of these things is the song from the Wizard of Oz: Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Originally performed by the lovely and talented Judy Garland, Beyonce Knowles has now placed the song firmly back in our minds as a true classic.

Beyonce performed the song at Movies Rock, an event that focuses on the role music has played in making the flim industry what it is today.

Of all the songs they could have and did choose for this event, I’m glad they chose this one. It’s a personal favourite of mine as well as many others.
