At 91 years old, introvert author JD Salinger has died from what is currently reported as natural causes.

The literary world is mourning the man who caused such shock and inspiration from his most famous work: The Catcher in the Rye.

I always feel a bit of heartache for authors who create great works of prose, but only one is ever picked up and run with.

It would be hard to deal with knowing the world loved one work better than all others – and forever would.

While I am sure curious people will want to know more, I am sure that Salinger’s death will stay firmly reported as ‘natural causes’.

RIP Mr. Salinger.
