You’re never too young to start playing sport. And you’re never to young to make a complete idiot of yourself while doing so. The poor little girl who scored an own goal is going to be scarred for life.

I fully support getting kids to play sport as at young age as possible, assuming of course that they are interested. But there is always the risk of one of the kids messing up and being put off for life.

Playing sport is good for your health and fitness but not necessarily for your state of mind. Luckily, this little girl is likely to have laughed off the incident and just got on with it afterwards.

But in years to come she’ll see the clip on YouTube, hear the adults all laughing at her, and probably develop an eating disorder. Still, it’s funny for now and that’s all that matters really.

Today is Mickey Mouse’s birthday. The most famous rodent in history is 81 years old, with his first animated feature, Steamboat Willie, having been released on November 18, 1928.

This video shows the birthday celebrations from last year, when Mickey Mouse turned 80. Proving his universal appeal and worldwide fame, these celebrations took place in India in 2008.

Mickey Mouse actually appeared in a cartoon (Plane Crazy) six months prior to Steamboat Willie but it’s that latter animated short that has stood the test of time.

Whether you love or hate Mickey Mouse, or even Disney as a whole, the influence it has had on young kids and teenagers is hard to fault. Mickey Mouse and his friends are all positive role models in a world where they are lacking in other areas of life.

Christmas is a fantastic time of year – presents, cards, dinner, family, friends, crackers, holly, mistletoe, drinking, parties, fun, frolics, and TV.

Yes, that’s right, television is the great leveler come Christmas, with everyone being able to settle down in front of the goggle box and watch seasonal shows and movies.

This video shows a clip from The Year Without A Santa Claus, which is shown every year over the holiday season. This scene shows the awesome Snow Miser and Heat Miser strutting their stuff.

The Year Without A Santa Claus is a stop-motion animated special based on the 1956 book of the same name by Phyllis McGinley. Alongside A Christmas Carol, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, and plenty of others, it’s an integral part of Christmas.

I often wish I lived in the States where Halloween is so much bigger a holiday than it is in the U.K. Then, and only then, could I get away with wearing this costume – and I really do want to wear this costume.

Kids can obviously get away with this sort of thing but I fear if I wore this out, even on Halloween night, I’d be laughed at, lynched, or beaten up. And I doubt my cardboard lasers would help much.

The parents deserve a medal for giving their kid what he wanted, as I’m sure he whined and moaned until they agreed to put the mech costume together.

This really is a brilliant costume, well-conceived and constructed to look as good as real. It may not be scary in the ghosts and ghouls sense of the word, but I still wouldn’t like to meet this kid in a dark alleyway.

Before Justin Timberlake was a huge pop-star he was on a little show called Star Search as a kid. Oddly enough, he isn’t actually that good in this audition.

Who knew Justin had a horrible country-western voice?

As cool as the narrator tries to play it off, you can’t deny how embarrassing this footage is. The shrills in little Justin’s voice are just plain awful! If you ask me, the judges went a little soft on him because of his age.

That being said, the man has indeed progressed as he’s gotten older and I’ve actually become a fan of some of his songs (N*Sync tracks not included). Sure the girl beside him won the show, but Timberlake went on to become a millionaire pop-star.

The Cookie Monster is currently sat atop Google’s homepage, literally eating his way through a cookie-constructed Google logo. This is to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street.

However, 27 years ago, the Cookie Monster was already well aware of Google despite it not having been thought of yet. And here’s the proof.

Here we have a clip from Sesame Street all the way back in 1982, with the Cookie Monster singing The Google Bugle.

OK, so it isn’t about Google the company, instead being a reference to his Google-eyes, with the song using words which rhyme with Google. Such as Oogle, Bugle, and well, that’s about it really.

It’s a strange example of the universe coming together but we get to see the Cookie Monster singing a funny song. And that’s all that really matters at the end of the day.

Today marks the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street. The show aired it’s first season back in 1969 and became an international phenomenon ever since.

But don’t tell Big Bird That. In this interview with Jimmy Kimmel he still thinks he’s only 6 years old.

It only seems appropriate for Jimmy Kimmel, who has dressed up as Big Bird in the past, to interview Sesame Street’s biggest star in person. Of course it’s impossible to tell who really is in the suit in this clip, but the performer is most likely Caroll Spinney.

Spinney, who is currently 75 years old now is still surprisingly as sharp as ever. Here’s to many more years of Sesame Street!

Pool is a real man’s game. You’re most likely to find it being played in the roughest bars in the roughest parts of the roughest towns and cities all over the world.

However, some people, no matter how young, are naturals at the game. As is the case with this toddler who may not know anything about angles or spin but can pot balls like there’s no tomorrow.

Does this kid actually know what he’s doing? Is he aiming for the pockets or is he such a natural that he can throw a ball and automatically find one of the pockets?

The best thing is he seems to be enjoying himself immensely, which is the surely the whole point. How long until he’s ordering a beer and starting fights with pool cues over the heads of anyone at the bar?

It’s Halloween again, as you were probably well aware before reading this. This means it’s time for youngsters everywhere to take to the streets wearing scary costumes and ask, “Trick or Treat.”

Trick or Treat is a tradition dating back decades, as proven by this cartoon from 1952. It shows Donald Duck and his nephews Huey, Duey, and Louie celebrating Halloween and meeting a witch and some ghosts along the way.

They don’t make cartoons like this anymore, and that’s a shame. There’s something sweet yet funny about this style of animation and the stories told. As good as Shrek, Toy Story, and the like are, they’re not as good as these old cartoons.

If you’re heading out Trick or Treating tonight, beware of bumping into any real ghosts and ghoulies. This is, after all, the night all the freaks and weirdos traditionally come out and play. You have been warned.

The line between video games (and television and movies for that matter) is already blurred too much, with kids believing they are the next superhero or sword-wielding crime fighter.

But that line can always be blurred even more.

This video is short and sweet and not particularly exciting. But it shows a kid trundling around in a buggy which someone in his life has modified to look like a Warthog from the Halo games on Xbox and Xbox 360.

It’s very nicely done, looking sport-on even down to the machine gun position on the back of the vehicle. As it’s America I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the gun were real. It isn’t, of course, but it could be.

There’s nothing wrong with this except that the vehicle that kid is driving is a killing machine, used to mow down opposition forces. So I just hope the kid doesn’t have any psychological problems that could lead to disaster.

As a fan of everything related with the Dragonball series, this game looks like a wet dream. World Of Warcraft may have some real competition in the coming months when this game finally launches.

Most previews for games stretch the truth by adding in various effects that just aren’t possible in actual game play. Dragonball Online, however, lives up to the appeal with characters and scenery straight out of the anime. Players can choose to be on Planet Namek or Earth and even engage in fights with energy beams.

For an advert to grab me these days, and prevent me from changing to another channel, they have to be original and fun. And there’s no better ad around right now than the ‘Poo At Paul’s’ one for Glade Air Freshener.

The original ad is my favorite of all time purely because of the ludicrousness of it all. And now there’s been a remake just for Liverpudlians. Yes, this is the all new, all scouse version of the ad.

What’s changed? Well, the kid now has the voice of a scouse man and instead of saying “poo” he says “shit”. Instead of “toilet” it’s “bog” and there’s swearing galore.

Is this ad reinforcing stereotypes of people from Liverpool? Undoubtedly. But is it funny and clever at the same time? Of course. Which for me makes it more than worthwhile.

And no, I don’t think Glade will actually be releasing this advert in Liverpool in place of the old one. Unfortunately.

If you’re at a sporting event, getting involved with the game in some way has to be the ultimate dream. In baseball this is made possible by catching a balle hit by a batter.

There’s just one piece of advice to listen to if this happens to you: don’t hand the freshly caught baseball to your three-year-old daughter – she may just throw it back on the field.

This incident happened during a Phillies vs. Nationals game on Tuesday night. Steve Monforto spectacularly caught a foul ball from Jayson Werth at Citizens Bank Park, and then handed it to his young daughter.

Unfortunately for him, but much to the delight of surrounding fans and the commentators of the game, she promptly threw the ball back on to the field. And who can blame her, as that’s probably what she had been taught to do.

His reaction is great, hugging rather than shouting at his daughter. And he was apparently handed a ball signed by the team later to more than make up for it.

Angela Lansbury takes a starring role in this Disney film as a witch apprentice caring for three children during World War II.

Wow. I had almost forgotten how incredibly long and drawn out Disney movie introductions were – especially as you get into the older films.

Even so, it certainly brings back a strong feeling of nostalgia.

You don’t get too much of a view of Angela Lansbury in this first part (mostly because the intro was so long), but it sets the premise for what the whole movie is about quite nicely.

I’m sure you can tell what is going to happen…

have you ever wondered why Mario, the famous plumber who stars in the Super Mario Bros. games (as if you hadn’t already guessed) rescues Princess Peach time after time after time? Why does the silly woman keep getting abducted in the first place?

This animation doesn’t reveal why Princess Peach lets herself get captured all the time but it does show Mario’s true feelings on the matter. He’s had enough, he’s lost it, he’s got better things to do than keep rescuing the princess. Like plumbing for example.

He ignores the turtle who has captured and is holding the princess captive and goes straight for the girl, giving her a verbal dressing down the likes of which I haven’t seen since Peter Andre and Katie Price split up.

The best line in the whole thing is the frankly sexist but still hilarious, “We’re going to go home and guess what you’re sucking? My balls!” Classic. I wonder if Nintendo will take notice and include this in a future game?

If like me you were a fan of the old Looney Tunes cartoons, then you will have spent week after week as a child wishing Roadrunner would stay still long enough for poor old Wile E. Coyote to catch him.

He never managed it, but what if he had? Would it actually have been the best thing to happen to Wile E. Coyote or would it have ruined his life? We get to find out thanks to a cartoon short from Seth MacFarlane’s Cavalcade Of Cartoon Comedy.

As was always going to be the case, Wile E. Coyote finally manages to catch Roadrunner not by ingenuity or out-thinking him but by sheer bloody luck. But no matter, because he finally got his man and cooked him for supper.

Unfortunately, after 20 years chasing Roadrunner, Wile E. Coyote has nothing to do. Until he realizes his calling in life – preaching the word of Jesus Christ. Come back Roadrunner, all is forgiven!

I’ve seen some truly bizarre adverts in my time but this one just about takes the top spot. It’s for Glade Touch ‘n’ Fresh air fresheners and it features a kid who’s very fussy about where he takes a dump.

The idea is that he doesn’t want to do a poo in his own bathroom because his parents are too cheap to have a Touch ‘n’ Fresh air freshener. So instead, he wants to do a poo in Paul’s bathroom because he does have a Touch ‘n’ Fresh. Lucky Paul.

It kind of makes sense from a marketing perspective although I fail to see what difference a good air freshener makes to someone taking a dump. Surely it’s the person who uses the bathroom next who should be more concerned.

But it’s the over-laboring of the “I want to do a poo at Paul’s” speech that makes this advert bizarre yet hilarious. Oh, and the fact his mother seems to be in the bathroom with him in the aftermath of his poo. Strange people.

I always suspected that the people behind kid’s shows like Thundercats had to be humorless robots. On the contrary, this blooper reel of leaked outtakes proves that the voice-over actors of Thundercats had a sense of humor- a dirty one at that!

As it turns out, Lion-O really likes the F-word.

I’m sure if these clips leaked when the show was at it’s prime, this would have made headline news. But now that the Thundercats craze has been over for 20 years, this clip is just another viral classic to share and reminisce with friends.

At the beginning of the clip, it is revealed that all of these outtakes are from season 3. If that’s the case I’m really praying for the other seasons’ bloopers to leak. I could watch these all day!

Sesame Street footage is ripe to be manipulated, as this YouTube video shows. We get to see Oscar the Grouch, Grover, Bert, and Ernie play some thrash metal in the form of Slayer. And they well and truly rock out.

Sesame Street may be a classic children’s television show, but it’s also one of the best TV shows for producing mash-ups. We’ve already seen Bert and Ernie both starring in a mafia film and playing the drums, and now they’re involved yet again.

Oscar takes the role of lead singer, while Grover manages to take on the lead guitar while holding an acoustic guitar. Which is simply amazing. Bert and Ernie take on the responsibility of drumming. It takes both of them to manage it.

This is a great metal song made better by seeing characters from Sesame Street performing it. Maybe there’s a solution here for bands unwilling or unable to make their own music videos – just hire Oscar, Grover, Bert and Ernie to star in one.

While the order would have been a bit different had I decided, pretty much all of these animated hotties would be on my list.

And yeah, it does feel a little weird for me to say that given I am female.

The one I disagree with most is Jessica Rabbit from Who Framed Roger Rabbit? How can she not be at least in the top three? Come on.

I guess that’s just a sign of the times, but I think she – for an animated woman – has a more classic sexiness that should put her at a better spot than she got.
