Many people have been unsure about Cher Lloyd on The X Factor, doubting her ability to do anything other than rap and be kooky. But she proved her critics wrong on Saturday night.
This video shows Lloyd singing Stay by Shakespears Sister, and doing a damn fine job of it as well. The staging is great, Lloyd looks great, and the vocals are spot on.
The song is quite an emotional one, and it seems to get to Lloyd quite badly. I’m not entirely convinced the tears are 100 percent real, but then she was under pressure closing the show, so maybe they are.
I wasn’t at all surprised to see Cher Lloyd stay (excuse the pun) this week, or to see Belle Ami go home. Because they were pretty crap. And despite last week’s performance Katie Waissel was back in the bottom two. Oh dear.
