It must be mating season, because bird videos seem to be everywhere today. Like the moonwalking bird we posted earlier, the birds in this video really know how to boogie.

They’re Birds of Paradise, found in idyllic New Guinea. When food is abundant and predators are scarce, it seems birds can concentrate on perfecting some pretty groovy dance moves.

The first bird is the epitome of cool, with his sideways strut and bobbing head. The second is a lot more outrageous. He hops around with his feathers flared, making himself impossible for the object of his affection to ignore.

One thing’s for sure, MC Hammer had nothing on these plumed performers.
