Eagles have a reputation for being cold-hearted killers, ready to prey on anything smaller and helpless. But it seems like this particular eagle has lost its edge!

When he was found injured in the street a coconut vendor nursed him back to health. Keen to return the favor, the eagle looked after the man’s chicken eggs. When the babies hatched, the clucky eagle was only too happy to play mom.

This is an incredibly sweet video, but I can’t help but feel a little cynical. How do we know whether Mother Eagle is really raising the chicks, or just fattening them up?
