Every year the Oscars are on I turn on the TV only to be consistently let down. It’s not that I don’t like movies, it’s just that all the acceptance speeches are pretty much the same.

Here’s a compilation of some of the best and worst speeches in 2 minutes.

Cuba Gooding Jr. holds the record for the most outrageous speech of all time, and for a good reason. The whole room lit up when he won for Jerry McGuire and he carried that energy until he got off stage. It’s a rare occurrence, but certainly one that I’d love to see more.

I love this compilation because it shows what the 3-hour award show is usually about; letting actors and actresses give their thanks while comedians interject in-between to keep it interesting.
