I have to admit that I don’t like the abbreviations that seem to litter the internet. I’m not a complete stick in the mud and will happily use lol (laughs out loud) or btw (by the way). But sometimes I chat to my teenage sister and feel she’s speaking another language.

This hilarious video, from the Canadian sketch show This Hour has 22 Minutes, shows just how confusing internet shorthand can be.

The poor host of Computer Corner, Gunther Wilson, can’t understand how abbreviations are ruining his life. His internet girlfriend Barbara has run for the hills, and his male friends are convinced he’s gay, but it’s all really just a misunderstanding.
