Kids and vegetables do not mix. If you’re lucky, the kid you’re trying to feed will merely throw a tantrum, and not something heavier. Put them on national TV, however and they’ll eat their veggies, even if they’re drowning in milk, without a squeak of protest.

Jimmy Kimmel seems to have a noble purpose in this sketch. He claims to be researching healthier alternatives to sugary cereals. What does his team come up with? Vegetably Pebbles and Ice Krispies. My heart goes out to those poor, ickle tortured souls.

All the kids are ridiculously cute and completely gullible, which was what made this clip so much fun in the first place. But the kid who got my complete attention was the last chap, in all his gap-toothed silliness and glory.

His response to the experimenter’s question was a study in “Kids Say the Darnedest Things.” The tiny tot sitting next to him was too mortified to do anything but slap her forehead!
