This video is old, but it’s also rather timely as there are new rumors that Nicki Minaj is to depart American Idol. If she does then her relationship with Mariah Carey could be at least partly to blame.

This video takes it back to October 2012, when a verbal fight between the two was caught on camera.

Minaj has since toned down her animosity towards Carey, but it’s doubtful whether the two will ever be bosom buddies.

I’m not a particular fan of Minaj, though Starships isn’t a bad song. She’s an odd choice for American Idol though, as her fame and fortune isn’t especially based on singing talent, is it?
