As if their butter shortage wasn’t bad enough, the poor people of Norway have been forced to endure crass American jokes about the crisis. But no more! A Norwegian singer called Tommy is fighting back.

Following in the steps of Chris Crocker, Tommy implores us to imagine a world without butter, indeed a Christmas without butter. He hopes we’ll think of a time when the amount of butter in your tub is barely enough to smear on a slice of toast, let alone cook a pussycat cake.

So let’s lay off the jokes and spare a thought for the Norwegians as we’re gather around our Christmas tables. Otherwise Tommy might just hunt us down!
