While the rest of the world is gleefully stroking the bellies of pregnant ladies, Oates and Garfunkel are sneering. Even though we’ve been told otherwise, they’re pretty sure no one really likes pregnant women.

It may not be politically correct, but I think it was about time somebody said it. They might like to pretend otherwise, but the only person reveling in a woman’s pregnant status is said pregnant woman. In fact, pregnancy is enough to turn perfectly lovely ladies into bitches.

Oates and Garfunkel are onto something here. Pregnant women are definitely smug.
