It emerged this week that Google has developing been developing a new browser for the last two years. Named Chrome, it is intended to offer an alternative to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.
This video shows the official announcement of the Google Chrome browser, prompted after the product leaked by way of a cartoon detailing it was sent to a German blogger.
There are obviously already alternatives to market leader IE available, with Mozilla Firefox being the strongest contender, alongside Apple Safari and Opera.
Google should at least be applauded for entering an already crowded market and trying to offer something different, but whether Chrome manages to grab any significant market share remains to be seen.
