Hip-Hop Meets Violin Music Vid | Dateh and Inka One Give Turntables a Twist

27 sec read

The violin is an instrument that is mostly associated with classical or jazz styles of music. It isn’t commonly associated with the hip-hop genre. Paul Dateh and Inka One have helped to dispel this notion.

Inka One is a whiz with the turntables and Dateh, a talented violinist; together they blend a classical sound with hip-hop to give you a whole new musical experience. I’m not a fan of hip-hop, but this was fresh, and gave a whole new flavor to the genre.

I won’t deny that I wasn’t expecting much from this video, initially. The classical violinist and the hip-hop artist seem to be from two different worlds that wouldn’t mesh. But the way the duo bridge the chasm between popular and classical music changed my mind completely.
