I recently posted a video showing the “These go to 11” scene from the film This is Spinal Tap and it inspired me to go searching for some more Christopher Guest videos.

If you didn’t know, Christopher Guest is the genius behind Spinal Tap and a series of other spoof and ad libbed films.

This video shows the first advert he made for the computer hardware manufacturer Intel, and actually shares some similarities with the whole Spinal Tap sense of fun and humour.

While it’s not overly funny in it’s own right, it’s certainly a lot more entertaining than the old Intel ads which were only interesting when the “Intel Inside” logo came up at the end.

As people commenting on YouTube have stated, it takes a genius to turn the most boring subject in the world, namely internal computer processing chips and make the advert for them entertaining and worth watching!
