Rough Night is a new R-rated comedy starring Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Zoë Kravitz, Ilana Glazer, and Jillian Bell.
It’s about women, naturally, who are enjoying a bachelorette weekend when things take a turn for the worst. And the girls then flop from one disaster to another.
If this sounds decidedly unoriginal and formulaic that’s because it is. This setup has been done numerous times before, the only difference being this switches the gender roles.
To be fair to Rough Night, Chris Stuckmann doesn’t hate it, suggesting he was pleasantly surprised by the whole thing. Other reviewers, however, have not been so kind.
