This week the Australian Idols had took on some of the world’s great rock songs: the hits of the Rolling Stones. It was a fantastic night, but the showstopper was Mark Spano.

Mark’s been a little inconsistent during this competition, but when he gets it right he gets it so right. The stars aligned for him tonight when he delivered an acoustic version of “Angie.”

The stripped back delivery allowed the intense lyrics and Mark’s musical skills to shine through.

On a night when the standard is so high, it’s hard to pick who will exit the competition. But I think Mark’s done more than enough to secure his place in Australian Idol for another week!
